The U.S. Embassy in Fiji has announced a temporary reduction in activity on its official Facebook page due to a lapse in appropriations affecting government operations.

In a public notice posted online, the Embassy stated that regular updates will be paused until full operations resume. However, urgent safety and security information will continue to be shared as needed.

“Because of the lapse in appropriations, this Facebook account will not be updated regularly until full operations resume, with the exception of urgent safety and security information,” the post read.

Despite the pause in social media activity, the Embassy confirmed that scheduled passport and visa services, both in the United States and at U.S. Embassies and Consulates overseas, will continue as the situation permits.

Fijians and other applicants are encouraged to visit travel.state.gov for the latest updates on services and operating status.

The Embassy’s announcement comes amid broader U.S. government funding challenges, which have led to temporary service adjustments across various departments.
