USP Lecturer Denies Sexual Involvement With Students

A lecturer at the University of the South Pacific (USP) has denied allegations of sexual harass­ment levelled against him.

Shine a Light approached a num­ber of lecturers and tutors implicat­ed in the sex for grades allegation.

We have chosen not to identify the lecturer and others for legal rea­sons. Some of these lecturers are still employed by the university.

The identity of these prominent male lecturers had emerged when Shine a Light ran two consecutive reports on allegations of sexual har­assment in the university.

Both reports highlighted how male lectures would take advantage of young vulnerable female students, and allegedly offered a good grade for sex.
