A lecturer at the University of the South Pacific (USP) has denied allegations of sexual harassment levelled against him.

Shine a Light approached a number of lecturers and tutors implicated in the sex for grades allegation.

We have chosen not to identify the lecturer and others for legal reasons. Some of these lecturers are still employed by the university.

The identity of these prominent male lecturers had emerged when Shine a Light ran two consecutive reports on allegations of sexual harassment in the university.

Both reports highlighted how male lectures would take advantage of young vulnerable female students, and allegedly offered a good grade for sex.

Questions sent to the university’s Manager Public Relations and Communications, Natasha Begum, on Monday remain unanswered…to read the full account from our Shine A Light Investigative Reporter and Editor Ivamere Nataro by subscribing to the Fiji Sun e-edition. If you have MPAiSA you can subscribe and only pay $1 to access the entire paper.
