Vatukoula Gold Mines Lose Dedicated Worker In Tragic Road Incident

Losing a dedicated worker is a big loss for the mining industry.
These were the heartfelt words expressed by Vatukoula Gold Mines electrical superintendent, Etuate Waqa after reminiscing on what he rembered of the late Taniela Sakealevu.
Mr Sakealevu, 49, who was the electrical foreman and communications technician at the mines died after he allegedly lost control of his vehicle causing it to tumble and land in a ditch last Wednesday night in Toko, Tavua.

It is alleged that Mr Sakealevu was intoxicated when the incident occurred. The sole bread winner of his family was known to many at the mines.
