Vehicle caught fire after a collision near the Airport junction

He said the 61-year-old driver was heading towards Lautoka and failed to give way to the other vehicle making a turn in the roundabout to Nadi Airport while returning from Sabeto.

Motorists found themselves stuck in a traffic jam at the Nadi International Airport yesterday after a vehicle caught fire.

Police spokesperson Constable Wame Batutolu confirmed the incident happened at 10.30 am.

“The two vehicles collided and the vehicle that was heading towards Lautoka caught fire,” he said.

He said the 61-year-old driver was heading towards Lautoka and failed to give way to the other vehicle making a turn in the roundabout to Nadi Airport while returning from Sabeto.

"No one was injured.”

Meanwhile, the traffic light has been faulty for some time and the direction was aided by cones.

Investigation continues.
