Villager wins $30K Tattslotto prize

No more living at relatives’ homes for Vatili Rowau and his family after he won the Tattslotto prize of $30,000 on Wednesday at the Midtown Sigatoka Tattslotto outlet.
The Lomawai villager received the cheque with his wife Jokapeci Tagi.
“It was the 21st of last month when we came to town to try out some Government assistance for the rural communities and we ended trying our luck for a scratch and win ticket at the Midtown Tattslotto,” he said.

He said they tried three tickets which were unsuccessful for his wife. He tried another one which turned out to be the winning ticket.
He said his wife, who matched the winning numbers, burst into tears.
“Only God knows our need for a house. We kept on praying about it and God answered our prayers. We were so happy,” Mr Rowau said.
The couple has three children. They have been living at relatives’ houses.
Mr Rowau is a fisherman who goes out daily to help put food on the table for his family.
“Now no more staying at relatives’ houses, we will build a new home for us. Thank You God!”
Outlet owner Rajendra Singh said they had been receiving more agents in their shops lately.
“This creates more business for us,” he said.
