Villagers Receive Tap Water at Doorstep
Ms Nayalo described her struggles when carting water her whole life from a nearby stream beside the village.

Tap water may be a common sight for urban and developed rural areas, but, for the villagers of Naqera Settlement at Vaturova, Cakaudrove, the joy to access it for the first-time will be cherished.
Minister for Fisheries and Forestry, Kalaveti Ravu, commissioned the opening of the village water project last Thursday.
Village elder, Nai Nayalo, believes the assistance would be a huge relief to villagers like her.

Ms Nayalo described her struggles when carting water her whole life from a nearby stream beside the village.
She said school students were the most affected in their early morning preparation, but, that would now change.
The 75-year-old mother single-handedly raised five children during this struggle for water. However, she can now breathe a sigh of relief and hope for the well-being and success of her children and future generations.
“It brings much joy knowing that our children will have it easier than we did, having tap water right in their own homes,” Ms Nayalo said.
In a talanoa session with the villagers, Mr Ravu, said the ministry was working towards ensuring that its promises to the people were delivered.
“The reason why we are here today to see that whatever assistance has been promised is delivered and implemented effectively on the ground,” he said.
