No one from Vodafone including its customer care team will ever ask you for your M-PAiSA account PIN or One-Time-Password (OTP) either over the phone, via text message and email.
This reminder comes in response to some customers receiving messages and phone calls from unknown persons posing as Vodafone staff asking for their M-PAiSA PIN and OTP.
Customer, Eta Gonerogo, said she received the call last week Tuesday.

“It was an unidentified number. Firstly, it was an unidentified call, and when she mentioned that she’s from Vodafone, and telling me that I have won $1,500 and that was when I knew it was a scam,” Ms Gonerogo said.
“And I didn’t give her any time to talk, because the situation was reversed. I started asking her questions, like how come you calling me with an unidentified number, I told her, I have personally done business dealings with Vodafone and they will never let their number be unidentified.
“And the English she used, gave it away. She hung up on me before I even finished with her. My advice to customers is that it’s your pin number, and no one has a right to know that and it’s for you only.”
In a statement, Vodafone stated that customers are urged to exercise caution and not respond to calls and messages from unknown sources.
“The PIN must always remain a secret to the account holder. Vodafone is reminding its M-PAiSA users to stay on alert and watch out for these scams and that these hoax phone calls, messages or social media posts and interactions are not facilitated by the company,” Vodafone said.
“Currently, Vodafone is in the phase of trialing its upcoming M-PAiSA Mastercard service with a select group of customers.
“To be included in the trial, Vodafone will send you a text message on your phone advising you that your number has been included in the Mastercard trial.
“The M-PAiSA Mastercard can only be registered via the M-PAiSA App.
