Vosakece dreams big

It is important for students to enrol in programmes involving Technical and Vocational Educational Training (TVET). This was highlighted by a graduate of Montfort Boys Town, Etonia Vosakece, during their graduation ceremony on Saturday in Lami.
After not being able to complete his secondary school studies, he applied to attend the technical institution.
He now needs further training in plumbing at the Australian Pacific Training Centre (APTC).

“I developed an interest in building and construction because that’s where my focus is,” said Mr Vosakece said.
“I want the people to understand that we are helping other people, and it’s something everyone wants to do.”
Mr Vosakece thanked his grandmother and teachers for helping him.
His success brought his grandmother, Savarai Naitini, to tears.She raised him since he was 10 years old, after his mother died.
“My prayers were finally answered when I saw my grandson graduate,” she said.
“We had to endure the pain of trying to provide for him at a young age, and I’m just proud to see him move and grow at the same time,” Ms Naitini said.
