Deputy party leader for the Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA), Filimoni Vosarogo, has confirmed that he aims to contest the 2022 General Elections under the SODELPA banner.

“I applied for a deputy leader position for the Social Democratic Liberal Party with a view of contesting the 2022 General Elections and that has not changed,” he said.

“The support that has been going across to Mr Rabuka does not concern me at the moment.

“We are down on the polls, which is of some concern, but as I said, it depends on how well we strategise before the general elections and if we get our cards right you should make it.”

Mr Vosarogo said while he understood that some SODELPA Members of Parliament were unhappy with how things were being done in SODELPA, he knew there was strength in unity.

“I think the best conclusion there is to ensure that they stay in the party without asking anyone to leave, which means we need to meet halfway on issues that concerns them.

“I think we should continue to have dialogue with them, continue to have good relationship with them. I continue to liaise with everyone because I’m all for reconciliation, unity leading up to the 2022 General Elections.”
