Vunika Primary Head Prefects Have Strong Desire to Succeed

The newly inducted Vunika Primary School head prefects have big plans for their school and personal development.

Jiya Datt and Raihan Karim said they would work together and make a timetable to ensure school operations and their preparation for the Fiji Year Eight Examination would not be affected.

The duo, from Vunika, Labasa, have been attending this school since preschool, so they are well versed in the daily core functions of their assigned role.

They are proud of the fact that they are the first in their respective families to hold this position.

“I was a class prefect in Years Two and Five and senior prefect last year, so I am confident that I will perform my duties as the head girl of this school with due diligence,” Jiya said.

The aspiring doctor said her father, confined at home due to some medical conditions, was her role model and source of inspiration.

Head boy Raihan wants to become the first scientist in his family. He was surprised to be selected for the position.

“I like to explore new things and hope to create something new to earn a good name,” the 12-year-old lad said.
