The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) has fixed the Water leakage problem at the Nabua Wastewater Pump Station that caused traffic difficulties over the weekend.

According to WAF, the leak was from part of the Nabua Wastewater Pump Station pipeline along Ratu Mara Road, in front of Ratu Sukuna Memorial School.

Today, members of the public should expect heavy traffic as work continues.

WAF reported that because of the extensive Occupation Health and Safety (OHS) requirements to make the site safe for work, extensive traffic management measures were put in place.

The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) gave the greenlight for the work to be carried out last weekend.

The WAF teams began work on Friday night to identify the leaking section of the pipeline and worked all weekend to fix the problem.

The organisation also reported it has handed back the road work to FRA to build back the road for the general public to use.

Their work against time made it possible to complete the work yesterday.

FRA Chief Executive Officer, Kamal Prasad, said the work may be completed tomorrow.
