Thirty-two families of Wainadoi Village have gone under strict lockdown following the increase in number of visitors at the containment border, metres away from the village. The concerned villagers are not leaving any stones unturned when it comes to the security and safety of members of the village.
Villager, Makario Cakaniwalu said while they are happy with the continuous Police surveillance at the border, the villagers are now concerned with the increasing number of visitors there after the lifting of the Western border.
“We understand that months of lockdown is taking a toll on the people and they have to visit the containment border to carry out their business, but we are concerned that the Western Division is still recording positive COVID numbers and there is no containment border to stop people’s movement,” said Mr Cakaniwalu.
