The former SODELPA youth leader, Pita Waqavonovono, who had left the party after the leadership reins of SODELPA were handed to Sitiveni Rabuka, has now left the proposed HOPE Party.

After leaving SODELPA, Mr Waqavonovono had joined Mick Beddoes and was a proposed vice-president of the proposed HOPE Party.

There are talks that he may rejoin SODELPA, but whether the bad blood that existed between him and Mr Rabuka will be put to the side, is yet to be seen.

Mr Waqavonovono had led the charge from the Youth Group of SODELPA in opposing Mr Rabuka as a member and leader of the party.

He is expected to reveal tomorrow which political party he will join and people can expect him as a candidate in the 2018 general election.

Mr Rabuka said everybody was welcomed to join or rejoin SODELPA. He said it depended on whether Mr Waqavonovono sought membership and he believed that Mr Waqavonovono had indicated that he wanted to send in his application.

“He is free to bring in his applications with the required documents. Everybody is welcome to join or rejoin SODELPA,” Mr Rabuka said.
