War Of Words: Seruiratu And Mataiciwa

Acting Supervisor of Elec­tions Ana Mataiciwa has responded to a statement made by Leader of Opposition Inia Seruiratu questioning her appoint­ment.

Mr Seruiratu on Friday said it was of grave concern that the act­ing supervisor of elections, Ana Mataiciwa, was making detailed comments on ongoing Fiji Inde­pendent Commission Against Cor­ruption (FICAC) investigations.

Mr Seruiratu said it was trou­bling to witness the Fijian Elec­tions Office (FEO) who should maintain neutrality and impartial­ity, interfere with the investigative process, compromise the integrity of the FEO, and interfere with nat­ural justice by making public state­ments on on-going investigations.
