Storing water in times of disaster will no longer be a problem for Robin Takino after the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) handed him a water tank last week.

He had applied for the 2500-litre water tank in 2018.

Mr Takino will be using the water tank to help his family that resides at Itumuta Village.

He has seven children who would be helped by the provision of rain water.

“Most of my children are still in secondary and primary school and water is something they need daily,” he said.

“During disasters, water could be disrupted and we will not have to worry about anything since we will have water.

“This could save us a lot of money since we pay for water here. We can boil water for our safety.”

Mr Takino is also a fisherman and the water tank is expected to be used to keep his side business afloat without spending a penny on water bills.

“I go fishing a lot and sometimes I sell fish when I get orders. This will help my wife and I save money,” he said.
