A delegation from West Papua, led by Benny Wenda (right), who is the President of the West Papua Provisional Government (WPPG), are in the country.
The WPPG is the legitimate extension of the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP), which had been formed in 2014 as a ‘movement’, and thus limited as far as political development.
They hope to meet several Government MPs, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, officials of the Pacific Islands Forum and some non-government organisations this week.
