A trough of low pressure with clouds and heavy showers lie slow moving over the Fiji Group.

It is gradually moving eastwards, reported the Fiji Meteorological Service on Friday.

Showers are expected to affect the group until later today. The Fiji Met Service said occasional showers were expected over Suva, Nausori and Tailevu areas, Sigatoka, Coral-Coast, interior of Ra-Rakiraki, Naitasiri, Serua, Namosi, Lau and the Lomaiviti Group.

Elsewhere, cloudy periods with some showers are expected with afternoon or evening thunderstorms and heavy falls expected.

Localised heavy falls may lead to flashflooding of low lying and flood prone areas.

Outlook for Sunday: Cloudy periods with some showers over greater Suva-Nausori-Tailevu areas, interior Ra-Rakiraki, Naitasiri & Serua-Namosi area, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Lau and Lomaiviti groups. Elsewhere, fine apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers.
