There has not been any update yet by the Judicial Services Commission on the return of Director of Public Prosecution Christopher Pryde.

While sources have confirmed the termination of Mr Pryde's salary, Mr Pryde has not responded to queries sent via email since Monday.

It has been five months since Mr Pryde was reinstated with full pay on January 7.

Mr Pryde has delayed his return to Fiji twice, once when the new set of allegations were raised by the senior management of the ODPP and twice when he was awaiting reassurance from the JSC of the new set of allegations made against him.

The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption has not responded to queries sent to the them two weeks ago, seeking an update on the investigations currently being made on him.

FICAC is investigating a fresh complaint filed by the senior management of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution on allegations involving the receipt of gratuity payments in 2023 exceeding Mr Pryde's entitlement, the payment of life insurance, and other related issues.

When queried on Friday if he had been advised by the JSC on Mr Pryde's future at the ODPP, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka said: "No, nothing further."
