Witnesses In Murder Case Acquitted Of 11 Offences

The trio were witnesses in the alleged murder of John Rusiate on June 5, along the Nasikisika cane access road at Korotari in Labasa.

Nitish Sharma, Chotu Lal and Jawahir Lal, have been acquitted of 11 offences by the High Court in Labasa yesterday.

The trio were witnesses in the alleged murder of John Rusiate on June 5, along the Nasikisika cane access road at Korotari in Labasa.

They appeared before Judge Justice, Siainiu Fa’alogo-Bull yesterday.

Murder accused, Amrit Sen, had filed a private prosecution against the witnesses in this case and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) represented in this case. Brothers, Jawahir and Chotu Lal were acquitted of 11 charges while relative, Sharma, was cleared of four charges.
