Wives plead for information on husbands in RFMF custody
The women said they had been waiting for answers since yesterday but had not received any communication.

Iva Danford and Ranadi Cokanasiga said their husbands, Amosi Naisara and Kelepi Komaisavou, were taken on Thursday night and they have not heard from them since.
The wives of two men in Republic of Fiji Military Forces custody are pleading for information and immediate access to their husbands.

“We, the wives of Amosi Naisara and Kelepi Komaisavou, urgently plead with Commander Ro Jone Kalouniwai and the Republic of Fiji Military Forces to release our husbands, or at the very least, allow us to see them immediately so we can confirm they are alive and safe.”

“Our husbands were taken on Thursday night, and since then, we have received no communication. We have been here constantly since yesterday, waiting for answers, but none have been given.”
They said the situation had been made more distressing by reports surrounding the death of another detainee.
“Instead, we have only heard deeply distressing reports, including the death of another detainee, Jone Vakarisi, whose family was reportedly denied access to his body.”
While acknowledging the need for investigations, they called for transparency and access.
“While we respect the need for any lawful and legitimate investigation, we firmly call for transparency, and the immediate right to family visitation.”
They said the uncertainty was taking a toll on their families.
“We ask for reassurance now. Our children and families are suffering, and we deserve to know the truth.”
