Woman, 75, Assaulted and Robbed Inside home

A 75-year-old woman is currently receiving treatment at Labasa Hospital after being allegedly robbed and assaulted inside her home on Siberia Road last Sunday night.
The woman was discovered by a neighbour yesterday morning, covered in blood and with bruises on her face.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu (pictured), confirmed the report, stating that authorities were investigating the incident.

“A report was received whereby an elderly woman was allegedly assaulted in her home by an unknown person,” ACP Driu said.
“A team has been formed to conduct the investigation and that whoever is responsible is arrested.”
It is believed that the woman was alone in her home at the time of the attack. Authorities are working to identify the perpetrator.
