Woman dies in three-car crash in Tailevu

A woman in her 40s is believed to be the country’s latest road fatality following a motor vehicle accident along Kings Road near Viwa, Korovou in Tailevu.
Police allege a suspect, a student in his 20s, was overtaking another vehicle when he collided head-on with the vehicle the victim was travelling in.
The impact caused a third vehicle to become involved, resulting in a three-car collision.

The victim sustained serious injuries and died at the scene.
Six others, including the drivers, were rushed to Korovou Hospital where they were treated.
Investigations continue, and the driver is expected to be brought in for questioning.
