Vuda backroad, Lautoka resident Reshni Lata was visibly shaken recollecting how two men in their 30s robbed her family of jewellery, cash and a mobile phone.

The 53-year-old said there was a power outage in the area at around 8.30pm when the incident occurred on July 16 at her home.

“There were two men, one had a mask and the other didn’t. One called from near our driveway asking for help so I told my husband to go there and see what that man wants, “ she said.

She said one of the men asked her husband Ramesh Prakash, 58, to go to where the vehicle was parked because it was stuck on the road so her husband followed him 50 metres away from the house.

“The man wearing a mask grabbed him ( Mr Prakash) then they started punching him up and tied his hands, legs and mouth using his clothes. Then they dragged him up the hill in the jungle and left him there,” she said.

The two men returned to the house where she was with her granddaughter.
