Women A Pillar Of Strength In Our Religion: Labasa TISI Sangam President

Women have always been integral in our religion with the great number of contributions they have made.
These were the sentiments shared by the Labasa Then India Sanmarga Ikya Sangam (TISI) President, Kamlesh Reddy during the celebration of the International Women’s Day in Labasa yesterday.
Mr Reddy said their religion had a special and profound respect for women and this was visible in the number of women participants in many religious activities.

“We have God figures of women and our devotees have a lot of cultural respect, love and care towards our female members,” he said.
He said their religion depicted women as being strong, courageous, supportive, caring and loving.
TISI Women’s Wing President, Indra Narayan, was delighted with the approach taken by the committee to celebrate their special day.
“We are fortunate that our religious body never forgets to celebrate our special day and makes all provisions to cater for the function,” Ms Narayan said.
She said women had always been a key part of family, community and national growth and encouraged women to keep flying their noble character banner high with their good deeds.
