Sujata Lodhia (sitting) and Nazia Ali, principal partners at Lex Connect Legal.
Two women lawyers are revolutionising the legal field by offering services online.
Sujata Lodhia and Nazia Ali, Principal Partners at Lex Connect Legal and Co-Founders of Lex Connect (Fiji) Pte Limited, have launched a groundbreaking initiative to transform legal services through their innovative legal tech platform - LexConnect
LexConnect is an access hub, empowering users with self-service legal tools. The platform offers a library of ready-made legal templates and resources, crafted by lawyers, and accessible anytime.
LexConnect simplifies compliance, boosts productivity, and allows businesses to focus on growth—not paperwork—at a fraction of the traditional costs.
Since going live in June this year, the website www.lexconnectfiji.com has emerged as Oceania’s leading resource for legal insights and tools – focused on Fiji’s legal landscape for the start.
The platform provides a self-help legal tool and library including:
- In-depth legal content and guides;
- Ready-made templates for contracts and documents;
- Up-to-date information on business-related legal topics at affordable rates.
The website offers a range of documents, including templates for various employment contracts, rent and lease agreements, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, partnership agreements, termination agreements, wills, and policy checklists to name a few.
It also covers essential legal and compliance information pertaining to, but not included to, immigration law, family law, foreign investment law, business registration, commercial contracts, employment law, environmental law, intellectual property, criminal law, etc.
The women emphasised the advantages of this approach: “Our goal is to make legal services easily accessible and cost-effective, helping businesses save time and money while streamlining their operations and ensuring compliance in the ever-evolving business landscape.
“People should be empowered to handle many aspects of legal work on their own, especially straightforward matters.
“However, it is crucial to ensure that they rely on verified and professionally crafted information rather than unverified sources found online. Our documents, prepared by qualified lawyers, provide reliable and accurate guidance” explained Ms Lodhia and Ms Ali.
PLANS AVAILABLE ON THE WEBSITE:
BASIC PLAN
This is a free plan.
“If you subscribe to this plan you get access to three documents for free that you will be able to download in word format,” Ms Lodhia and Ms Ali said.
“For example, a lease agreement, non-disclosure agreement and there is a sample Will that you can download for free,” she said.
ESSENTIAL PLAN ($149/month)
There is unlimited access to all contents and documents on essential plan.
“This is for people who are looking for self-help tool” without the need for further consultation with a lawyer.”
STARTUP PLAN ($549/month)
This is the most popular plan.
“In this plan, apart from what is on the platform, you also get limited free access to the lawyers at no additional cost.
“You can get monthly consultations with the lawyers, we have chat platforms and if you have quick legal questions on the content provided in the site then you can instantly call us or message us and we would be available for you on the platforms to answer your queries.
BUSINESS PLAN
“Again under business package ($999/month), if you subscribe to this you get access to the platform on demand live chat with the lawyers 24/7, unlimited consultation with the lawyers as well face to face because if you are a business owner you would want to have weekly or monthly chat sessions with your lawyers to see if your business is actually in compliance with all the requirements on a daily basis.”
WORK ON THE WEBSITE
Works are in progress to introduce an AI chatbot on the website, and it’s availability on Apple Store and Google Play Store.
“Accessing similar documents online through our platform can be more cost-effective compared to the thousands of dollars you might spend hiring an expert for each document. A subscription provides you with access to these professionally prepared documents at a lower cost.”
Ms Lodhia said: “All the information and templates are localised and updated regularly to reflect the most recent laws in Fiji. We’ve made sure the language is simple and easy to understand.”
Ms Ali said: “Our long-term plan is to expand the contents on the platform relevant to the jurisdiction of other South Pacific countries.
“As time goes, we will be adding more topics, more documents, we will be updating it as we go along.”
