Women's Crisis Centre Codemns Acts of Violence

FWCC coordinator Shamima Ali said men needed to understand that they did not have any right to inflict violence on women and girls as part of their entitlement in a patriarchal society.

The Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre (FWCC) has strongly condemned acts of violence on women’s bodies by men and especially those who are supposed to cherish and protect them.

This follows reports of an alleged murder at Labasa that killed a woman and an alleged stabbing incident in Lautoka that landed an other woman in hospital.

FWCC coordinator Shamima Ali said men needed to understand that they did not have any right to inflict violence on women and girls as part of their entitlement in a patriarchal society.
