Wonderful Giving Raises $245,000

The FIJI Water Foundation has this year contributed $245,000 to 54 local charities throughout the country.
This annual initiative is a part of the company’s employee giving programme.
The programme with 100 per cent employee participation gives the employees the opportunity to donate company money to those charities in need.

FIJI Water Foundation manager Marie Smith said each year, employees of the FIJI Water Foundation’s partners namely FIJI Water, Williams & Goslings, Transam and NPT Agency participate.
The initiative called is ‘Wonderful Giving’ programme, has been particularly impactful on local charities that have suffered from reduced funding, lack of resources and hard times over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year has been the highest participation rate, with 743 employees pitching in, for the initiative since the programme started, Ms Smith said.
“I’m so proud to be part of an organisation that empowers its employees to give back to their local communities,” Ms Smith said.
A key organisation that was able to leverage the support of the programme this year was Cure Kids Fiji.
This year employees chose to donate over $20,000 to fund’s vital services for children at risk of Rheumatic Heart Disease.
Other organisations that employees chose to donate large amounts of funds to include Dilkusha Home, and the Fiji Cancer Society.
