Work On Review Of Media Law Has Started: Turaga

Government has begun work to review the Media Industry De­velopment Act 2010 with the commissioning of a team of media personnel and ex­perts.

Attorney-General, Siromi Turaga said the Media Indus­try Development Act 2010 was a highly controversial law and many had questioned how this law came about.

“I was told at a workshop held last Thursday, February 9, 2022, that my predecessor summoned journalists and other representa­tives from media organisations at Holiday Inn and were surprisingly told to submit their comments to the draft Media Industry Develop­ment Decree within two hours,” Mr Turaga said.
