Work Together And Protect Women, Singh Tells

Sixty-four per cent of women in Fiji experience violence in an intimate partner relationship.
This was stated by the Fiji Women’s Rights Movement Executive Director Nalini Singh during their concert at Ratu Sukuna Park in Suva yesterday.
“This is the second year we partner with so many different organisations to create a space to understand what March 8 is all about,” Ms Singh said.

“March 8 is a time to commemorate women and recognise our achievement and contribution.
Ms Singh said everyone needed to work together when it comes to protecting women.
“In workplaces, one in five women face sexual harassment and violence. The statistics for us is not that great,” she said.
“We want to make sure that our voices are loud and strong.
“We must come together to commemorate days like this.”
More than 150 people were part of the event including local artists Laisa Vulakoro, Georgina Ledua, Aggie Vakaloloma and Etta Gonerogo, Paulini Bautani and Mata dance group.
