The arrival of adult content creators Tia Emma Billinger, alias "Bonnie Blue," and Annie Knight, from the United Kingdom and Australia respectively, has sparked scrutiny over Fiji's border controls.

Both were promptly declared prohibited immigrants after entering the country on Sunday, November 17.

Ms Billinger, a 25-year-old British national, had previously attempted to travel to Australia to create explicit content with teenagers during the annual school break, "Schoolies", where high school graduates flock to popular tourist destinations for a week to celebrate.

Her plans were thwarted when her Australian visa was revoked following a 20,000-signature petition. Authorities cited her intention to exploit young adults for X-rated material on the subscription platform 'OnlyFans'. In Fiji, she and Ms Knight, an Australian-based creator, stayed briefly at the DoubleTree Resort by Hilton, Nadi, according to local Minister Pio Tikoduadua, before their activities caught the attention of immigration authorities.

Home Affairs Minister Pio Tikoduadua announced their deportation, saying: “These individuals are not good for our people."

“While Fiji welcomes visitors who respect our laws, any violations will be dealt with decisively to safeguard the nation’s interests.”

Ms Billinger’s content creation exploits had drawn widespread criticism, with her recently posting online remarks alluding to explicit activities.

Police and immigration officials have launched an investigation into their time in Fiji.

Acting Police Commissioner Sakeo Raikaci confirmed that the Criminal Investigations Department was assisting in the deportation process.

Tourism Minister Viliame Gavoka also condemned the duo’s presence, saying: “These individuals harm Fiji’s image as a tourist destination.”

The creators left the country on November 19, marking a swift resolution to a potential diplomatic embarrassment.
