Year 12 and Year 13 students of Duavata Secondary School at Udu, Macuata, have set a benchmark by achieving 100 per cent pass rates in the Fiji Year 12 and 13 Certificate Examinations.
With the Year 12 external exam marks released yesterday, school principal Ajesh Prasad said the 10 students passed with flying colours.
“This first-time in the school’s history to have both streams of Year 12 and Year 13 achieve 100 per cent passing marks in the externals,” Mr Prasad said.

In Year 13, all seven students passed. Mr Prasad said they scored good marks as well.
The highest mark in the Year 12 external exam is 347/400 while the lowest mark is 236/400.
The school achieved a 100 per cent pass for Year 12 in 2022, the Year 13 received an 88 per cent pass rate.

The Year 13 highest mark is 335/400 while the lowest is 266.
PT meetings, community awareness works wonders.
The parents and teachers (PT) meetings and community awareness created by the teachers worked wonders with the support of parents, Mr Prasad said.
Majority of the students were from farming and fishing background.
