Year 7 Student Helps Deliver Aunt’s Baby On Roadside

A Year 7 student of Ba has been hailed a hero.
The young boy assisted his aunt deliver a healthy baby boy by the roadside a week ago.
The family who wished to protect their identity due to personal reasons said they were overwhelmed to share their peculiar story of what transpired.

The mother-in-law of the woman who is in her 20s gave birth to a healthy 3.45kg baby boy metres away from their home has hailed the Year 7 lad a hero.
She said she was still in shock over what occurred.
She said on March 14, her daughter-in-law had paid a visit to her at the Ba Market before making her way to the Ba Mission Hospital for a checkup.
She confirmed that her daughter-in-law was due to give birth and after returning from her checkup, she had told her she would give birth soon.
“My daughter-in-law then told me she wanted to go home and bring some clothes to take back to the hospital. She caught the 3pm bus back home,” the woman said.
“She waited for that same bus to return to town, but she could not wait any longer and had given birth by the roadside, near our home.”
The woman said her grandson assisted her in the delivery of her baby and when she had finally given birth, her grandson sought the neighbor’s help to transport her daughter-in-law to the hospital.
“She was discharged from the hospital the next day, and her baby are healthy,” she added.
“I hail my grandson as a hero and I still can’t imagine what my daughter-in-law had done, I salute her.”.
