Students of Bukama District School in Yasawa will no longer have to walk seven kilometres to school.

This was after the school of 300 students established in 1960’s received a school bus.

School manager, Televi Ratu, said their years of plea was answered and there will be no more seven kilometers of walking to school on foot.

“The children and parents travel seven kilometers from their villages to school every morning and afternoon,” he said.

Mr Ratu said the school committees and the parents were grateful to the Government and the Ministry of Education for providing them with a school bus.

“We are so happy today because our children are provided with much easier access to their education,” he added.

The students are from Bukama, Yasawa.
