Youths of Nadroga Sanatan and Kulukulu Kailash Mandir yesterday celebrated Holi in style along the streets of Sigatoka Town.

Mandir president Manoj Narayan said Holi was a Hindu festival celebrated by Hindu devotees across the world.

“This brings a new beginning, one which brings out peace and harmony among people, this is the time we leave all the negativities behind,” he added.

Mr Narayan said their youths started with singing Hindu religious songs and after that they will play with different colours as a sign to celebrate the happiness that the festival brings.

“We have been doing this for a couple of years; it is like an annual event for us here, we hope to celebrate it in a big way next year.”

Rooted in Hindu mythology, Holi also celebrates the triumph of good over evil- symbolism that correlates with the passing of winter.
