A woman charged with drug and proceeds of crime offences will take her case to trial in September after appearing at the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday.

Zoe Moore Maharaj appeared before Magistrate Yogesh Prasad charged with unlawful possession of illicit drugs and one count of possession of property believed to be proceeds of crime.

The court heard that Maharaj was allegedly found with a grenade and 0.111 grams of methamphetamine during an incident on February 13 in Delainavesi, Lami.

Police also allegedly discovered $345 cash, two CCTV cameras, a speaker and an electronic scale, which form part of the proceeds of crime charge before the court.

State prosecutor Tevita Naimila informed the court that the State would file its sentencing submissions.

The matter has been adjourned to June 3 for further mention.

Meanwhile, trial has been scheduled for September 25.
