Swire Shipping Fijian Drua hooker Zuriel Togiatama said their weak defence, poor attacking moves and lack of aggressiveness in the breakdown were the reasons behind their 50-35 hiding to the NSW Waratahs on Saturday night.
Speaking to SUNsports, Togiatama said they still need to work hard to improve on these areas.
“We need more variation in our attacks and then setting up our defence faster especially during the breakdown,” he said.
Togiatama said the Waratahs tested them in the breakdown and they (Drua) failed to execute it well when it mattered the most.
He said that despite the bad weather, the fans managed to turn out in numbers to support them in their last home game of the season.
“The people of Suva, were unreal today. They brought the vibes, the energy. Their support from the first minute right to 80th, stuck with us.”
Togiatama said that showed in the second half as the players lifted their game.
“To the fans that have been with us throughout the whole year. We’re grateful for your love and support you have given us. We’re looking forward to the next two weeks. We’ve still got another two weeks,” he added.
