A staff member has filed a police complaint against Acting Corrections Commissioner Sevuloni Naucukidi, alleging threats and intimidation inside his office earlier this month.
This is the second time the acting commissioner has drawn public attention since his appointment.
The first involved a viral video showing his alleged involvement in a nightclub brawl in Suva while wearing a Fiji Corrections Service shirt.

The latest incident is said to have occurred on July 4 – Civil Service Day – inside Mr Naucukidi’s office.
This newspaper has reliably learned that a complaint for alleged criminal intimidation was lodged with the Criminal Investigations Department on July 9, and has since been referred to Totogo Police Station.
Sources claim Mr Naucukidi confronted the staff member about rumours circulating within the service and accused them of trying to report him to the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC).
He allegedly lost his temper and threatened to punch the staff member and harm their family.
Fiji Corrections Service media liaison officer Jone Sigavou said Mr Naucukidi was unaware of any such complaint.
“No complaint has reached his office and neither has the Police contacted him on any issues regarding this report,” he said.
Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu has not responded. Police media officer Sergeant Wame Bautolu also remains silent.
Mr Naucukidi was appointed on March 29, 2025, by the Constitutional Offices Commission following the suspension of Commissioner Jalesi Nakarawa, who is being investigated over the appointment of his wife as the service’s senior medical officer.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka had earlier confirmed that the nightclub incident involving Mr Naucukidi occurred before his appointment.
However, with this new complaint now under police review, concerns are again surfacing over the conduct of the man tasked with leading Fiji’s prison system.
