The Electoral Commission has awarded the vacant parliamentary seat to Faiyaz Siddiq Koya.
In a release, Electoral Commission chairperson Suresh Chandra said it held a meeting through the use of electronic medium yesterday and announced:
As per section 64910 of the 2013 Constitution of the Republic of Fiji, Faiyaz Siddiq Koya, candidate number 585, is the highest-ranked out of the candidates of the FijiFirst who did not get elected to Parliament and still available to serve. Mr Koya, a former minister, replaces Ashneel Sudhakar who resigned from FijiFirst.
