Lynda Tabuya is back in Cabinet—this time as the new Minister for Information.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka made the announcement today, confirming that Tabuya will take over the portfolio currently held by him.

“She is well-suited to spearhead the government’s public relations machinery through the Ministry of Information,” Rabuka said.

Tabuya’s appointment is part of a wider Cabinet reshuffle that also sees Tomasi Tunabuna promoted to Minister for Agriculture.

He takes over from Alitia Bainivalu, who had been acting in the role following the passing of the late Minister Vatimi Rayalu.

“Hon. Tomasi Tunabuna has been an effective Assistant Minister in the Ministry,” Rabuka said.

Inosi Kuridrani has also been appointed as the new Assistant Minister for Agriculture.

The new appointments will take effect after the swearing-in ceremony before the President tomorrow, August 5 2025.
