People’s Alliance Party (PAP) president Ratu Josefa Dimuri says he is confident the party will receive strong support from rural communities and maritime islands.
Speaking in Labasa yesterday, Ratu Josefa said the party was preparing to begin its full election campaign in two weeks.
Originally from Labasa, he said party supporters were aware of the work being carried out by Government ministers and party officials on the ground.

“The party has managed to maintain strong support, especially in the maritime islands, where people are concerned about roads, water supply and other social welfare services,” Ratu Josefa said.
He said the Government had implemented numerous projects aimed at improving livelihoods and living conditions in these communities.
Access to basic services, he added, remained a priority for many people living in remote areas.
When asked about his expectations for the 2026–2027 National Budget, Ratu Josefa said rising fuel prices could be one of the main challenges facing the Government.
“The budget planning process began several months ago under the leadership of the Minister for Finance and I believe it will be a good budget,” he said.
