People First registered as Fiji’s newest political party

The objections concerned the use of the party’s name, party symbol and provisions within the party constitution.

People First has been registered as Fiji’s newest political party following approval by the Registrar of Political Parties.

Registrar Ana Mataiciwa confirmed that the party’s application, submitted on November 20, 2025, was approved after due process.

She said four objections were received in relation to the application.

The objections concerned the use of the party’s name, party symbol and provisions within the party constitution.

Ms Mataiciwa said all four objections were assessed and subsequently dismissed.

She added that the objectors have 14 days from the date of the decision to lodge an appeal with the Electoral Commission.

With the registration of People First, there are now eight registered political parties with the Fijian Elections Office.
