The People’s Alliance (PA)party is set to hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday at the FMF Gymnasium, in Suva, where members from across Fiji and overseas branches will discuss proposed amendments to the party’s constitution.
Party secretary-general Sila Balawa said several issues have been raised by divisions around the country, prompting the need to review the party’s constitution.
“We have several issues from various divisions that members wish to discuss at the AGM. This includes proposed amendments to the constitution, which will only be approved once members have their say,” Mr Balawa said.

He said all divisions Western, Northern, Eastern, and Central including overseas, women, and youth branches, would be represented at the meeting.
“Everybody will have an opportunity to contribute towards the motions discussed. At the end of the day, it will be up to the members to decide whether to make changes to the constitution,” he said.
Balawa confirmed that the last AGM was held in Lautoka in 2024, and this year’s meeting will also present and endorse minutes from that session.
He clarified that the AGM is strictly for financial members of the People’s Alliance, although non-party guests may attend at the invitation of the party leader.
“The meeting is for People’s Alliance members only. Others who attend as guests do so at the invitation of the party leader that is his prerogative,” Mr Balawa said.
