Rabuka Opens Office For His Proposed Party

Sitiveni Rabuka opened a new office for his proposed political party in Suva Street, Toorak, Suva.

The office was blessed yesterday morning by Methodist Church of Fiji’s Reverend Iliesa Koroi and attended by Mr Rabuka’s supporters, including Sakiusa Raivoce and Peceli Rinakama.

A crowd gathered in Toorak for the ceremony.

Mr Rabuka thanked all who had prayed with them and for them.

“I pray that God will also meet your demands and prayers,” he said on his social media post.

“Members of the public who may wish to register their support for me and the political party I am proposing can drop into our office at 74 Suva Street, Toorak opposite Kasabias hardware.

“Please bring along your Voter ID Card.”

Mr Rabuka is however yet to register his proposed political party as he needs 5000 signatures of eligible voters to register his party.

He has called his office, the Proposed Party Office.

Mr Rabuka resigned from SODELPA and as a Member of Parliament in December last year. This step followed months of tension within the SODELPA camp. The factions in SODELPA had become evident as senior members clearly drawing their lines on who they supported.

Meanwhile Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem was asked if a proposed party which was yet to register was allowed to open an office.

He said they would respond after getting legal opinion.
