Singh: Management Board Meeting June 18

Suspended Social Democratic Liberal Party vice president Vijay Singh has confirmed that the party is expected to hold its Management Board Meeting on June 18.

While speaking to Fiji Sun yesterday, Mr Singh said 20 out of the 28 constituencies of the suspended party have held their constituency meeting. The eight that have remained were expected to hold theirs during the weekend.

He said the constituencies were given time until June 15 to hold their meeting and he was overwhelmed with the response shown by the members.

He added that the nine-member task force team of the suspended party was working hard visiting the various constituencies, in a bid to rectify the breaches outlined by the Registrar of Political Parties, Mohammed Saneem, before the 60 days suspension time period ended.

“Right now we are only seeking funds to be able to call the meeting on the set date since all SODELPA (in suspension) accounts have been ceased,” Mr Singh said.

“Once we have sorted all that needs to be sorted, we will be able to come back on track.”

In the past, suspended party Members of Parliament Ro Teimumu Kepa, Sitiveni Rabuka, Aseri Radrodro, Adi Liti Qionibaravi and Tui Cakau, Naiqama Lalabalavu have posted on their personal social media pages about meeting with their different constituencies.

Other SODELPA (in suspension) MPs are doing the same with their various constituencies.
