UN Highlights Destruction Of Floods In Bangladesh
The latest reports from OCHA's humanitarian partners and authorities described 732,000 people as "waterlogged" across 21 of the 64 districts in Bangladesh. And more rain has been forecast.

The United Nations on Monday highlighted the devastation caused by monsoon rains in Bangladesh, saying nearly a quarter of the country is flooded, affecting at least 3.3 million people, 40 percent of them children.
Humanitarian partners are responding, in coordination with the government, said the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

Flooding damaged housing and infrastructure, including dams, water wells, hygiene facilities and more than 1,900 schools. Health care services in many areas have been disrupted.
"Livelihoods, local markets, crops, livestock and fisheries have also been severely affected, which our humanitarian colleagues warn could also lead to increased food insecurity," OCHA said.
