Ex-Sprinter, Ex Fiji 7s Rep Granted Bail

The Court heard the 32-year-old Fiji Corrections officer allegedly entered the compound of a school teacher of Solovi, Nadi on April 28.

A former Fiji 7s rep and re­nowned athlete was bailed by the Nadi Magistrates Court yesterday for criminal tres­passing.

Niko Verekauta appeared before Magistrate Nirosha Kannangara charged with one count of crimi­nal trespassing.

The Court heard the 32-year-old Fiji Corrections officer allegedly entered the compound of a school teacher of Solovi, Nadi on April 28.

Police Prosecutor, Mere Mataki told the Court there was no objec­tion to bail.

The accused was granted with a bail of $500 by Magistrate Kannan­gara.

Verekauta will appear on May 13 for plea.
