The Boxing Commission of Fiji (BCF) chairman Adi Narayan is very disappointed on how things were carried out during the Bluewater Boxing Promotion bout between Frederick Chand and Aisea Naicovu at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka, last Saturday.
This was after Naicovu punched Chand while he was still on the canvas. Chand was stretchered of the ring and taken to hospital where he was admitted for observation. The referee Mun Sami ruled the fight a no-contest.
Speaking to SUNsports yesterday Narayan said he was very frustrated on how the fight was carried out.
“I am very disappointed, I must say that,” Narayan said as he did not attend last Saturday’s promotion.
He clarified that they would have a board meeting on Wednesday (today) to discuss about the issue.
He also confirmed there would be another boxing promotion in July.
“I think it’s in July 25th and will be promoted by Kings Boxing Promotion,” he added.
