Upcoming boxer Nathaniel ‘The Hornet’ Singh has vowed to knock out Nitin Lal in the first round of their super bantamweight fight tomorrow.

Unbeaten after 18 fights in the amateur division, Singh began his pro career with a win over veteran Ritesh Goundar on a unanimous points’ decision last month.

The 20-year-old believes a knockout win over Lal will earn him the right to challenge Australian National Boxing Federation Australasian Super featherweight titleholder Sachin Mudaliar.

The 4x3 contest is an undercard to the Sebastian Singh vs Humzah Khalid IBO super-middleweight Oceania-Orient title fight, in a Kiran Boxing Promotions event.

Singh is drawing confidence from the win over Goundar, who had 12 professional fights under his belt when they met at Nadi’s Prince Charles Park.

It is also the first time both Singh brothers will be fighting at the same event.

“My objective is to box with class. I walked into the ring with 15 weapons in my last fight but only used three. So in this fight, the main objective is to actually showcase more than what I did in the last fight,” Singh said.

“This time it’s a guaranteed knockout. I’ve seen him fight in the amateur division and he was impressive but we are not in the same league.”

Lal will be eyeing his first win since turning pro in 2018, after losing his two career fights to Junior Wahid Khan and Mudaliar.
