Heavyweight boxer Jonasa Kavika signed the contract to fight for the vacant Fijian heavyweight title against favourite James ‘The Beast’ Singh on July 11 at the A.D. Patel College ground in Ba.
The 24-year-old Narata, Nadroga native is confident that he will not make the same mistake from their last encounter.

“I’ve really learnt from my mistake that night. I was too complacent and gave James the chance to land that punch which put me away.”
Kavika said their return fight with the Fijian heavyweight title on the line is going to be a different story altogether.
“I am going for a knockout win,” he added.
South Pacific Boxing Promotions promoter Fredy Chand said both boxers have signed and it was matter of time before they get everything on.
“Boxers need three months to prepare and during this time, I’ve urged them to follow all health instructions and stay safe from the coronavirus,” he said.
