New Zealand boxer Sonny Morini is looking to get another victory in the ring as he faces Fijian boxer Kaliova Tahikia at Vodafone Arena, Suva tomorrow night.
The two boxers are fighting under the Zeg Boxing Promotion in the welterweight division.
Morini is confident fresh off his win against Sariel Delgado at ABA Stadium in Auckland on March 24.
“Preparation has been good and I’m looking forward to the fight,” Morini said.
“I’m ready to bring on a good show and everyone should come out to support all the fighters on.”
Morini had prioritized focus on his mental and physical strength during his preparation phase.
“I just wanted to see how fit I can be for the fight,” he said.
“The heat here is a lot different to New Zealand so I’m just getting used to those little things.”
Morini described Tahikia as an energetic fighter with a southpaw fighting style.

“It is different because I’m an orthodox boxer, I’ve done a little bit of research and he’s a good fighter,” he said.
“The target is just to get the job done; it doesn’t matter how it gets done.”
WBA Oceania women’s minimum weight title holder Emma Nesbitt said she hopes to finish on a high.
She will fight India’s hitwoman Aarti Hooda in the minimum weight division.
“It’s a bit lighter, but I believe it suits me, and I want to prove that I can be the number one in whatever division that I chose to be in,” she said.
“We trained hard constantly and we’re ready to go,” Nesbitt said.
“The focus for every fight is to always just be quicker, fitter, physically and mentally strong.”
Nesbitt said Hooda is a strong and relentless fighter.
“The target is just to get in there to fight the best that I can, entertain everyone and leave the stadium earning respect from everyone else,” she said.
“My family back home has been my biggest motivation.”
Kyan Hand is looking to be physical and do some damage in the supermiddleweight division against Isimeli Dautokidavui.
“My focus is just to hurt. I’m just here to hurt, it’s my favourite thing to do is to hurt people so I’m just going to do what I love,” he said.
“I’m just looking forward to getting in there and showing what I can do.”
Hand is targeting a knockout win against former Fijian amateur boxer Dautokidavui.
“My teammates drive me and working alongside some of the best in the world levels me up,” he said.
“I hope you got your tickets because it’s going to be a big night and Fiji boxing is going to take over.”
